Bike Lansing!

It's summer here in Lansing, Mi! In the past few weeks, we've been walking around our lovely city, enjoying the nice weather, while getting some exercise at the same time. We've been thinking about getting bikes ever since we moved to downtown Lansing. We took the plunge this weekend and bought bikes. I love my Schwinn bike and the retro styling!

This weekend is the Festival of the Moon on Friday, June 24. They are offering a bike valet service for people who ride their bikes into Old Town for the festival.

After wandering thru a few galleries, and picking up a quilt rack at Greenfield Antiques, we headed to Sir Pizza for lunch. Sir Pizza's cafe has a view of the River Trail and to our surprise, the River Trail was flooded! A few bikers made it across the flooded area, but the hikers definitely had to turn around!

Then of course... Cravings Popcorn for dessert. Butter rum caramel corn!

Lansing In The Pink

I've turned my house pink!
"Downtown Lansing Inc. (DLI) is turning the Capital City pink again this year! As you may know, the Susan G. Komen Mid-Michigan Race for the Cure® attracts nearly 7,000 participants to downtown Lansing each year. This year’s Komen Mid-Michigan Race for the Cure will be held on Sunday, April 17th at 2:00 p.m. The Race will take place at the Michigan State Capitol Building in Downtown Lansing." http://www.lansinginthepink.org/

Art Deco/Nouveau Invitations

The design on the invitation is actually made from a design I found on a door at the Michigan Capitol Building in Lansing, Mi. Because of the time period the building was built, I believe that this design is more Art Nouveau than Art Deco.
