Wonderland Candy Buffet

 The National Association of Career Women hosts an annual Signature Event as a fundraiser for the Harriett E. Pincumbe Scholarship Fund. This year's event was held at the Turner-Dodge house in Lansing, Michigan on June 10, 2015.

 The theme for the event was a "Mad Hatter Cocktail Party". Inspiration was drawn from Alice in Wonderland with references to the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts.

 The Wonderland Candy Buffet included mini colored mason jars, and colored candy pieces from Michaels Arts & Crafts. DIY "Take Me" tags were attached to each jar.

Morton's Fine Catering provided the catering for the event. We went with tea party style finger foods,  including a variety of tea sandwiches, and broccoli salad in mini mason jars.

 The catering was complimented by playing cards, Alice in Wonderland prints, and vintage serving trays.

Lansing Treats

Whoopie Pies from Sweetie-licious Bakery Cafe.

Today's blog post features some of my favorite Lansing treats. I stopped by Sweetie-licious Bakery Cafe in Dewitt, Michigan. My mission was to drop off a vintage toy refrigerator for the owner Linda, but of course I got distracted by the delicious treats. I ended up with these lovely whoopie pies!

I also stopped by the Lansing City Market. I picked up these lovely fresh Michigan peaches.

Garlic & herb cheese spread and fresh peaches on crackers.

A visit to the Market  is not complete until you make a stop at Hills Cheese. I found a garlic & herb cheese spread made especially for Hills Cheese. I also picked up some of my favorite dill flavored cheese curds.

The fresh sliced peaches were delicious on top of the garlic & herb cheese spread!
